Golden Temple Amritsar’s Favorite Place

Travel Monitor IndiaGolden Temple is popularly known as the Darbar Sahib in the northern India. This is one of the most sacred places for Sikhs. This place represents the strength and charisma of Sikh people all over the world. Tourists from all over the world come to Amritsar daily especially to visit the Golden Temple.
History
Golden Temple was destroyed and invaded several times by the Afghans and other intruders. Initially, Golden Temple was under the charge of Bhai Mani Singh Ji. After his death in 1737, Massa Ranghar, the famous Kotwal of Amrtsar took charge of this place. He converted this place into a civil court and began to hold scratch parties. Later, two warriors, Sukha Singh and Mahtab Singh, murdered Massa Ranghar. The committee decided to convert this place in to a holy place. The construction work was started under the guidance of Guru Arjun Sahib and several well-known Sikh personalities like Bhai Gurdas Ji, Bhai Sahlo ji Bhai Budha ji and many more dedicated Sikhs assisted him.
Unlike, the traditional Hindu temples where there is only one gate for entrance and exit, Golden Temple is open from four sides. This place is accessible for every person irrespective of creed, caste, religion and sex. Golden Temple is a vital place in Sikhism and people revere it a lot.
