Day - 01            Arrive Chennai
                          Chennai / Pondicherry by surface (140 kms)

Arrive Chennai. Meeting and assistance on arrival and drive to Pondicherry. (140 kms)
Check-in at hotel. Over night stay at hotel.

Day – 02          In Pondicherry 

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast proceed to visit  AURBINDO ASHRAM – Its is a place where Aurbindo’s disciple and companion Mirra Alfassa who was from Paris and who later came to be known as the mother lived and died. The ashram was set up in the year 1926 by Sri Aurbindo Ghose .His philosophy is derived in a combination of yoga and modern science. The ashram has received a lot of fame in Inida and abroad. The devotees come from all over the world.. Aurbindo Ashram is instrumental in giving Pondicherry the name of a spiritual town.
Evening free at leisure.
Overnight stay at hotel.

Day – 03       Pondicherry – Chidambaram  - Swamimalai - Tanjore (270 Kms)

After breakfast drive to Tanjore enroute visit Chidambambaram Shiva temple & Swamimalai Chidambaram is a sprawling ancient temple renowned for its architecture encompassing the complete pose sequences of the classical South Indian Bharat Natyam dance; from which originated the revived dance in its present popular form.

Swamimalai is a sylvan village, situated about five kilometers west of Kumbakonam on the banks of a tributary of river Cauvery. Swamimalai is fourth among the six padai veedu or sacred shrines dedicated to Lord Muruga. The presiding deity here expounded the meaning of the Pranava mantra OM to his own Father Lord Siva Himself.

Later proceed to Tanjore. On arrival check in at hotel.
Tanjore is the "Rice bowl of Tamil Nadu" and famous for the Brahadeeswarar Temple. The temple wasconstructed more than thousand years ago by the King Rajarajan, is an architect's marvel. It isa flourishing centre for bronze sculpture and painting.
Evening city tour of Tanjore.Visit the famous Brihadeeswara Temple which has gopurams over 90 ft. (27 m) high and are exquisitely sculpted & the Saraswati library.

Day – 04         Tanjore – Trichy by surface (54 kms)

After breakfast drive to  Trichy,  Situated on the banks of the river Cauvery, Trichy or Tiruchirappalli is one of the most famous temple towns of south India. Trichy is famous for its rich cultural and splendid architectural heritage and the town represents a fine blend of tradition and modernity. Also the fourth largest city in Tamil Nadu, Trichy is also referred as gateway to many great temple cities and historical sites of Tamil Nadu. Afterwards visit -   Visit to Rock Fort the 83-meter high rock fort is in the center of the Trichy. Its 344 rock-cuts steps take one to the Uchipillayar temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaka. Half way up is the temple of Lord Shiva dedicated to Thayumanaswami. Jambukeshwara Temple here has Shiva lingam almost submerged in water.
Visit the spectacular temple architecture near Trichy at Srirangam. Set on an island in the Cauvery River within seven concentric walled Courtyards, the Sri Ranganathaswami Temple is one of the largest complexes in India.

Day – 05                     Trichy – Palani by surface (150 kms)

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to Palani. On arrival check-in at hotel.
Afterwards visit Palani Murugan temple. Over night stay at hotel..
 

Day – 06                     Palani / Madurai by surface (124 kms)

 

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast drive to MADURAI. On arrival check-in at hotel.
Evening visit to Meenakshi Temple, the Palace of Thirumalai Nayak, the most famous king of the Nayak dynasty. It has a great audience hall, a three-sided pavilion and a courtyard.
The evening “Aarti” is a must see for all visitors. The Consort of Goddess Durga – Shiva, is brought to her chamber in procession. This procession goes around the temple, and has various short ceremonies at different shrines, before the final prayer at the entrance of her chamber. The entire procession takes 45 mins.

Day – 07         Madurai – Rameswaram by surface (175 kms)                                                                                             

Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast drive to Rameswaram – It’s most important pilgrim centre of the Indians. Rameshwaram is the place from where Lord  Rama, built a bridge across the sea to rescue his consort Sita, from her abductor, Ravana. This is also the place where Rama worshipped Lord Shiva to cleanse away the sin of killing Ravana.
On arrival check-in at hotel.
Evening visit - Rameswaram Temple.

Day - 08       Rameswaram – Kanyakumari by surface (240 kms)

Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast drive to - Kanyakumari (the southernmost tip of peninsular India, where the waters of the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea meet), a place from where one can see spectacular sunrises and also colourful sand. On arrival check-in at hotel. Later visit - Vivekananda Memorial. In evening attend aarti at - Kanyakumari Temple.
Also enjoy evening spectacular view of SUN –SET
Over night stay at hotel.

Day - 09          Kanyakumari – Trivandrum airport drop

Morning drive to after breakfast drive to Trivandrum enroute visit - Padmanabhapuram Palace, a unique repository of some of the most ancient monuments in South India, Padmanabhapuram Palace is about 15 km from Nagercoil. Built with strategic planning and military architecture, the palace remained the seat of power for the Travancore emperors till 1790. The palace is popular for its striking aesthetic beauty, innovative designs and timeless wooden carvings.

Later continue drive to Trivandrum airport to board flight for onward destination.
